Anecdote
I had to wait, and wait, and wait to capture this image. When we first encountered this Red Fox it was sound asleep and let us approach quite closely. Eventually the animal woke up but pretty much refused to lift its head. Finally the fox looked directly up in the direction of the two rust-coloured leaves (which is EXACTLY what I was waiting for). In this case perserverance paid dividends!NOTE: The branches in the background were originally a grayish burgundy colour. I slightly and selectively desaturated the burgundy colour so that the viewer would been drawn to the two key elements in the photo - the fox and the two leaves.
Translation from Babelfish (please don't hesitate to edit!):

I look forward to your comments...

PS: I will be not be posting (and out of contact) for the next 4 to 6 weeks - I am traveling to a remote location on Canada's northwestern coast in search of grizzlies, whales, and spirit bears. Until late October or early November - cheers!

Thanks for commenting on my image. Here's an interesting observation for you - I have shown this photo in a few other places over the last while and NOT drawn attention (or mentioned) the undersaturation of the branches. In each case no one has mentioned anything related to how they look (and the image has gone through some pretty tough scrutineers!). I wonder if anyone at Nunda Foto would have thought of commenting on the appearance of the branches if I hadn't mentioned it? Food for thought! Just an interesting observation...and I really DO appreciate your feedback!
Cheers...
Brad
